The milestone marks one of the fastest growth runs in the construction-tech space and signals a broader shift: contractors and business owners want one partner that can find the work, price the work, and win the work — without hiring another estimator, marketer, or sales rep.
A Product Stack Built to Win Bids
At the center of SMC sits BidEngine, the company's AI bid analysis and proposal product. BidEngine turns plan sets into priced proposals fast — automating takeoff, scope extraction, and first-draft proposals so contractors can respond to more ITBs without growing headcount.
Managed clients also get exclusive access to SmithyAI (also referred to as SmithAI) — a custom CRM and lead-generation system provisioned per client. Every managed account gets its own dedicated pipeline, outreach automations, and reporting, all wired into BidEngine.
The Agency Expansion
SMC has also formally expanded its agency arm into a full consulting and marketing practice serving not just contractors but any business owner or startup that needs marketing, systems, business audits, sales enablement, and web + logo design.
Today, SMC supports clients across general contracting, home services, logistics, healthcare, and franchise-specialized services — and continues to onboard new managed clients each month.
The Team
SMC's Bid Team is led by a senior engineer with 19+ years of construction and business-development experience, anchoring scope reviews and proposal strategy. The Marketing Team brings deep backgrounds in direct response, paid campaigns, and conversion copywriting. The Development Team — self-described as having vibe-coded to excellence — ships product weekly while continuously learning every vertical the client base touches.
Together, the team operates as an in-house growth and bid department for every managed client, replacing the patchwork of freelancers, point tools, and underutilized estimators most contractors are stuck with.
Media, Community, and What's Next
Beyond product and services, SMC operates a fast-growing podcast and a contractor-focused newsletter, and is preparing to launch a new client-focused interview podcast (name to be announced) spotlighting the operators inside its managed-client network.
